Notary public must complete an online education training course and acquire a certificate of completion.

Have $25,000 Notary Bond & $25,000 E/O Insurance Policy

Florida notaries are required to purchase a surety bond, and errors and omission (E/O) insurance policy in the amount of $25,000 each from an insurer authorized to transact business in Florida.

Will RON services grow my Notary business?

Yes, becoming an online notary will help your business grow. Your customer base will be no longer limited to Florida residents or to those who live in the near proximity. Once you join a RON platform you can notarize for signers outside the state or anywhere as long as you are physically located in Florida. How long does it take to become a notary public in Florida?

The process usually takes 2-3 weeks from the time you submit the application. The materials are processed by the state of Florida Office and the notary commission is issued by the state. There is an application fee of $10 that must be paid to the Florida state, and additional fees for education, surety bonds and Notary seals that vary depending on the chosen provider.

Does Florida require a special training course to become a remote online Notary?

Yes, all notaries who wish to become RON must complete a 2-hour RON training course in order to get approved as an online notary in Florida. Once you select the education provider approved by the state, you will proceed with the course by learning about RON practices and technology requirements.

Florida's remote online Notary commission runs concurrently with your traditional Notary Public commission, meaning both will expire on the same day, regardless of when you received your online Notary commission. You may renew your traditional Notary commission and reapply for your online Notary authorization at the same time.
